Commercial & Rural CPV Qualified Valuers - Shepparton

Preston Rowe Paterson, Shepparton (formerly Goulburn Valley Property Services) currently have vacancies for two property valuers with a desire to join a motivated team of professional valuers operating across central and northern Victoria from the outskirts of Metropolitan Melbourne to the Murray River.

We require two commercial valuers, preferably with an interest in agriculture but not necessarily significant rural property experience, who are enthusiastic and willing to develop experience in the field of agricultural valuations, the biggest growth sector of the Australian regional property market.

Our business was founded on agricultural valuations and we have a unique position in a diverse region with many disparate types of agriculture that make this opportunity a once in a lifetime for the right applicant.  This opportunity will provide the successful applicant the chance to not only work in the commercial sector of several major regional cities and towns but to be developed in the field of horticultural valuations, vineyards, dairy farms, cropping properties both dry land and intensively irrigated, beef and sheep properties – this is the most diverse agricultural region in Australia.

Key Objectives

The key objective of this role is to provide well-founded and detailed commercial and rural valuation reports for our range of clients.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Attend property/site inspections, prepare research and sales evidence and prepare detailed and accurate valuation reports;
  • Research current market activity and analyse comparable sales and leasing data for use in the preparation of valuations and market monitoring;
  • Exercise the highest level of risk management and professional conduct;
  • Build effective business relationships with staff and clients;
  • Adhere to quality reporting standards and audit processes;
  • Utilise mobile technology for field inspections;
  • Maintain all required professional memberships and registrations including required CPD.

The successful applicants will have:

  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Understanding of valuation principles;
  • Effective people skills;
  • Technical expertise in using modern data collection systems;
  • Excellent report writing skills;
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a suitable motor vehicle or willing to have a vehicle provided as part of a competitive salary package;
  • Strong numerical analysis and problem solving capabilities;
  • The ability to work within tight timelines and under pressure;
  • The ability to understand valuation principles and methods and their correct application.

Future admission to a leadership training program and to partnership status is available to the right applicant/s after a suitable period of familiarisation and mutually beneficial workplace involvement.

PRP Shepparton has been established from the former Goulburn Valley Property Services independent valuation practice, established for 20 years and with a diverse clientele of banks, accountants, solicitors, corporations and private entities.  Joining the Preston Rowe Paterson group of National and New Zealand based offices in December 2017, our primary office is based in Shepparton but utilises valuers operating from remote locations with a flexible, state of the art valuation management system and a leading edge approach to technology and innovation.
